mark Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 I have an old Lachenal 20b and am looking for a wooden case in good condition. Anyone know where/how much I might find and expect to pay for one? Thank You Mark
wes williams Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Mark, As nice as it is to have an original case, it isn't the best way to store a concertina. They need to be kept in the same position as you play them, otherwise the valve leathers get set into a curled shape. I never use my original cases, but keep my instruments in small "women's vanity" cases that I get fairly cheaply (13UKP)from 'Matalan'. Before that, I used 45 rpm record cases. If you do get an old case, remember that you need to store it on its side, rather than with the handle on top. best wishes ..wes
