Paul Read Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Does anybody know where these small nickel plated or stainless screws can be obtained? Not the long ones that Dave Leese has but the small ones that are used to screw end plate, thumbstraps etc.
varney Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Hi Paul, I got some good quality tiny screws which worked by taking a sample of the original to a friendly local jeweler. He had boxes of every kind of fitting accumulated over the years from not just jewelry but clocks, jewelry cases etc Michael.
Paul Read Posted November 19, 2010 Author Posted November 19, 2010 Thanks Michael, I'll give it a try.

Bill Crossland Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Hi Paul,If you don't mind steel or brass you could try this company. http://www.screwsline.co.uk/brass_wood_screws_csk.php Unfortunately this business is no longer trading - last time I tried them, they were retiring and trying to sell the business, and not taking any orders

Paul Read Posted November 19, 2010 Author Posted November 19, 2010 You can try Microfast.com Possibly http://www.microfasteners.com/ Thanks guys. They don't seem to have what I want but there are other routes I'm trying. I still haven't tried the jeweller option yet.
Chris Ghent Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Its weird I know, but what isn't these days. Check out Amazon, who do a lot more than books these days. I bought 3000 1-72 stainless steel fillister screws off them about a year ago for 1c apiece. It cost another cent apiece to get them to Australia. They replaced screws I had had made at 27c each, so they were quite a bargain... Chris
