JimLucas Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) I just received an email from my friend Concertino (not to be confused with Concertina.net member Conzertino, though they do know each other): Last Monday I arrived in Helsinki with the ferry from Stockholm. The documentary can be seen on Finnish Internet TV- archive for 30 days: http://arenan.yle.fi/video/1417950 Let´s spread this happy message to all of our friends. The video is a half-hour documentary about Concertino and his lifestyle. (The subtitles are in Swedish; Finland is officially bilingual.) Concertino is, by choice, a busker and wanderer, with no fixed address. He is a clown, a juggler, a musician, and a very un-pedantic philosopher. His "full" name is Concertino on the Road. I'm told that the title, "Clown på luffen", translates essentially as "Clown on the Tramp". Disclaimer: There's very little concertina in the video, and in fact there's more of the folks he surrounds himself with than of Concertino himself. But that's all right. It's full of great people having great fun. And it does start with Concertino and his concertina. P.S. The video should be available at the above link until early December. If anybody here knows how to capture it, I would very much like to have a copy for my personal archives. Edited to correct my guess at translating the title of the video. Greg Jowaisas Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Jim, Nice! Thanks for the link. I went for a peak and stayed for awhile (a wild). Greg
Chris Timson Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Ah, it's been far too long since I last heard Erwin's wonderful laugh. For those of you who haven't met him, he's just like that in person. One of my favourite people. Thanks Jim, many thanks. Chris
JimLucas Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Ah, it's been far too long since I last heard Erwin's wonderful laugh. The erstwhile "Erwin", I believe. I know that a few years ago he said he was getting his name legally changed (in his native Germany) to "Concertino". I presume he succeeded in doing so, though I keep forgetting to ask whenever I see him -- like when he rang my doorbell a couple of weeks ago, -- because we're always too busy with other conversation, music, and all.
Chris Timson Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The erstwhile "Erwin", I believe. Not surprised. However he will always be Air-vin to me and Anne Chris
JimLucas Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 The erstwhile "Erwin", I believe. Not surprised. However he will always be Air-vin to me and Anne Yah. Vin=wine, and he does have an intoxicating air about him.

Roland Wolf Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Hi, if anyone knows the wherabouts of Erwin Pruss: give him a hug and say thank you from Roland Wolf (the one supplying the samba in the old days) for his favourite book " Hope of the Flowers". It helped me now.
