Genuine antique?

Patently Victorian?

Copy of a Lachenal?

Proper concertina made in the traditional way?

Proper concertina reeds?

Correct concert pitch?

Obviously lower end model?

New pads, valves and straps?

Obviously a lower end model?

 

Not a bad looking box. The hand rests look longer than a Lachenal's.

Seller knows all this and doesn't know what make it is.

They're rare and I've never had either in hand, but from what I've heard here I'd say that a Tidder (they're never labeled, so we're not even sure that Tidder was the maker) is as good as a decent mahogany-ended Lachenal or lower-end Jones, but a Schuster is of interest mainly as a historical curiosity as a vintage English-style-construction concertina made outside of England.

I have hand a Schuster EC in my hand. It was clearly a copy of an English built concertina, but it could best be described as a "concertina shaped object" It played like a very low grade tutor model.
