Frank Edgley Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I have posted some pictures of newly made concertinas at http://edgleyconcertinas.blogspot.com . Please visit and let me know what you think. The bird's eye maple concertina is an Ab/Eb, and I very reluctantly shipped it to Ajax, Ontario, yesterday.
ben Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Hello Frank, thank you for the Edgley Bird's Eye Maple Ab/Eb concertina you built for me. I am very happy with this instrument. It is well built, looks beautiful and it sounds great. The waiting time for this concertina was very short - only a few months. Your concertina joins my collection of Linotas, Dickinson Wheatstone Aeola and 1960 Wheatstone C/G. Your concertina will not sit on a shelf or be locked up in a safe - it will be played very often. Thanks, Ben

ben Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Hi, Frank. Please use the photo of my new Edgley! I am using your photo as my icon photo. I am still thrilled with my Ab/Eb concertina. Thanks.
Frank Edgley Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 There is a new posting as of today at http://edgleyconcertinas.blogspot.com . Anyone want a Christmas gift...for someone special, or maybe for themselves?
david fabre Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 And the oak one is for me... Thanks for posting photos. Now I can't wait anymore... David PS Contrary to what is written in your blog, I'm in Toulouse, not Paris. Didn't you know that in France, Parisien is an insult for anyone living outside the capital ?

The principle applies universally. When I moved from Somerset (England) to Napier (NZ) I was amused to discover that everything Somerset folk used to say about Londoners still applied in Napier if you used 'Aucklander' instead...

david fabre Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 After a long time lost arranging the payment and shipping details, my new Edgley (G/D, oak, "tree of life" design) arrived yesterday ! I'm very, very happy with it. It is very well build, looks gorgeous, and has a nice mellow sound as I expected. I have to recognize that is is easier and more comfortable to play than my Linota... The only difficulty is that the air button is located closer to the handle compared with my Linota, and I'm still not very comfortable with it, but I think I'll adapt rapidly. I'll post a few sound tracks if I find a little time for recording. I'm very happy with the Fallon case too : it is robust, well made, and I'm sure that the lock won't open accidentally and that the kids won't be able to open it (and this is very important for me considering the two little tornadoes that I have at home...) I'm thinking of ordering a second one for my Linota. David
