Jody Kruskal Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I’ll be playing Anglo concertina and singing at a number of English folk clubs in the next few weeks. I sing a wide ranging collection of amusing songs that tell American stories that are hilarious, gritty and true — stories of train wrecks and wrecked marriages, death-row convicts and lonesome lovers, heroes, losers, swaggering braggarts, and lazy slackers. Fun stuff all. In addition, I will be teaching Anglo concertina workshops at the “Concertinas at Witney” gathering. I hope to see some of you along the way. If anyone here is interested in private lessons, just send me a PM. September Thursday 23 Stortfolk Music Club, Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire Friday 24 Swindon Folksingers Club Saturday 25 Witney, Oxfordshire - workshops Sunday 26 Witney, Oxfordshire - workshops Monday 27 Warwick Folk Club Thursday 30 Islington Folk Club October Saturday 2 House concert in Faversham Monday 4 The Barge, Gillingham

Ralph Jordan Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Hi Jody. Hope the tour goes well. If your stuck for somewhere to stay anytime. Just get in touch. I'm in Watford. North West of London. Regards Ralphie Hi Ralphie, That would be great to see you again. Perhaps a visit would work. How far are you from Islington? I'm about 20 minutes on a train out of Euston station. Sadly, I can't make any of your gigs this time. But, my earthly representative (Irene) will be happy to press my latest CD into your hand at Bishop Stortford! Have a great trip, and give my love to all my friends in Faversham, particularly!
Irene S. Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 But, my earthly representative (Irene) will be happy to press my latest CD into your hand at Bishop Stortford! Have a great trip, and give my love to all my friends in Faversham, particularly! He speaks the truth ... I'm certainly hoping and intending to be at your Stortfolk gig next week Jody (and hopefully to purchase one of the books we were corresponding about a while back). And I'm now feeling that disposing of Ralphie Jordan CDs has become a hallowed experience, since I now seem to be designated as his earthly rep ... {chuckle}
Geoffrey Wells Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Hi Jody I am looking forward to meeting you at Witney and I will also see you at The Barge in Gillingham. Geoff Wells
Irene S. Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I'm certainly hoping and intending to be at your Stortfolk gig next week Jody And a lovely evening it was too ... Jody was on great form, and there was a splendidly varied selection of floorspots ... and what a friendly club! And it was nice to see the likes of Geoff Crabb, James, and Mike Acott there as well amongst all the others, as well as Jon McNamara, of course. (Some great harmony singing from the floor as well in the choruses). WIsh I could make it to Islington on 30th ... hope the rest of the tour goes well Jody.
Chris Timson Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Jody will be joining us at our session on Wednesday 29th in Bath. This is a normal English session evening so don't come expecting to hear Jody do a set, but I'm sure he'll lead some tunes over the evening. The Royal Oak, Lower Bristol Road, Bath BA2 3BW starting at 8.30. Cheers, Chris

No chance to play sadly. Hey Ho. Great to see him again though. Top bloke!
Jody Kruskal Posted October 1, 2010 Author Posted October 1, 2010 Hello to all. I’m having a great visit. There has been scant time for posting details here, what with spotty internet connections, driving hither and yon, meeting new folks and old friends, performing and doing other essential activities... like drinking beer. Thank you to all my hosts. What a generous and pleasant lot you are. My Islington show went well tonight (great to see you again, Chris) and soon I’m off to Kent to experience authentic Kentish rain. Ta.

Chris Timson Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Just put up a couple of tunes here that I recorded Jody playing while he was staying with us on this trip (for anybody else contemplating having Jody as a guest, I can say he is excellent company and a very good guest and that we've pretty well managed to clean up all the blood stains and explain to the police about the screams ...). Chris

Chris Yes, that was fun Chris. Great to see you in your natural environment. You and Anne showed me an excellent time what with sightseeing in Bath and Bradford on Avon and the two sessions we attended. That Dipper baritone of yours is a splendid object, you lucky dog. So you explained to the cops... that's just how they do things in the USA? You can take the boy out of Brooklyn but...
