Two English System concertinas are coming up for sale at Gorringes North Street Lewes next week.

One is a nice ebony ended Wheatstone seven fold bellows ,looks like an alto in quite good condition, most notes working and in tune with itself .The other is a George Case looks like a Baritone, original bellows , needs some attention ,it has not been played in years. Rosewood ends, nice gold block work. Both may be in old concert pitch. Both cased in original cases.

They both have very low estimates

This information is supplied in good faith and I am not selling these myself.

You're a bit late on this one, Al. These concertinas at auction, have already been covered elsewhere in this forum! My spies have been to view them - the Wheatstone is a tenor-treble, BTW. See here. and here. My guess is that the tenor-treble, fully restored, is worth around £3500 at current prices and the George Case Baritone, around £1800, restored.

I expect they will both fetch a lot more than their conservative estimates, especially if Chris Algar bids!
