I had a very busy week at the beginning of March and let a few things slide. Reading Concertina.net was one of them. Because of the awkward way this site keeps track (or fails to) of what I've read and what I haven't, getting back in was never going to be easy, so I kept putting it off and the task kept getting more and more daunting.

I'm on vacation this week, and getting back into the fray here is one of the goals I've set for myself. I've just spent several hours at least looking at all the topic titles I've missed and reading some of them in detail. I saw that the Button Box is moving. I saw pictures of the Tedrow Hayden. I jotted down the dates for the 2005 SESI. I responded to the "contradance" thread. Did I miss anything I might be interested in?

I just noticed that I'm still the 4th highest poster (I was 3rd when I stopped posting 3 months ago, but Chris Timson has overtaken me). What's with you guys?

Sure. Right now I'm in San Antonio (my wife has a conference here). I've been doing everything I always used to do except read this board. And more things to take its place. What took up a lot of time in March was several volunteering obligations that all came at me from several directions at once. As a board member of the Empire State Youth Orchestra, it was my responsibility to manage the MC's at the big fundraising event. I also took on the responsibility of being the director of the volunteer anesthesia program in St. Lucia for the Health Volunteers Overseas office in Washington, which meant writing program descriptions and recruitment letters and answering a lot of questions from prospective volunteers. Finally, my wife and I were up to our ears arranging an English Country Dance weekend that occurred in Lenox, MA later in the spring.

But that's all (or mostly, anyway) behind me now. This is prime Morris Dancing season, so now that fills all my free time.

And don't I know it! Anyway, thanks for the chance to catch up, and glad to have you back.

Nice to see you back David and well done for the great work you are doing.

Now let me talk you through my symptoms.
