Music Hall style tune

But of all these lovely young ladies

who could sing a bird off a tree

One is waiting for me with a nice cup of tea

Outside of the old stage door.

Is good. No point of twiddling.

However, the overall rhythm is uneven, especially in the beginning. But if you sing it the right way, this problem is fixed.

Well Having sung it a few times my favourite is as follows

Thirty years as a band musician

Thirty years in old Music Hall

The rich the poor and the famous

Comedians I've seen e'm all

but of all these lovely young ladies

who can sing the birds off a tree

She's waiting for me,with a nice cup of tea

It's Jenny at the old stage door.

Thanks for your suggestions and ideas some of which has shaped this song.

Updated tune

Al :)

Thanks for sharing. It's lovey-- and is the performance! I love the accompanying line, too. It add so much flavor and lifts the melody rather than bogging it down.

Any chance some sheet music/Midi will follow? :) I'd love to learn this tune.

Thank you Blake for your comments.

I have spent many hours practising this tune and I still get it wrong as many times as I get it right,

There is no music available for it at the moment, but my good friend and music partner Will Fly will write it out for me if I ask him nicely.

It may take a little while but I shall not forget.

I played this in public last night and a person enquired if it was a Music Hall tune, just what I wanted to achieve,

Wonderful. I do look forward to it. I have enjoyed learning concertina so much, I have been playing many different types of music on it and my little Morse EC has proven to be a versatile and compact companion. I love the sound of the instrument when played with multiple voices, so I am working on my skills in that direction.

Best,

Blake
