Greg Jowaisas
Thanks Leo. Isn't the Internet Wonderful! Get to hear the music and avoid the humidity :-) Yvonne Oh, I don't know about that humidity. Irish Arts 2009 had great weather for 5 of the 6 days I was there. Day temps in the 70s to low 80s (fahrenheit) and the evenings could be pleasantly chilly into the 40s. I camped by a rushing stream in the beautiful Catskill Mountains and attended dynamite sessions at night led by the Kane sisters, Blackie O'Connell, Edell Fox, Caitlin Nic Gabhann and many more. Yes, there were bleary eyed concertina classes as well, mornings and afternoons. (Are you eating your heart out yet, Yvonne?!) My second E. Durham and recommended despite a threat of possible Eastern humidity. Greg PS. Thanks for the video links, Leo.
David Levine
Leo - these are wonderful. Thanks so much for posting them. Are they playing C/G concertinas? I would assume they are. In which case they're playing the first two reels, The Wind That Shakes the Barley and Miss Clare Drowsy Maggie in G and Am, going way up on the right hand G row. Is it true Edel had a late date to go to a prom after the recital?
Leo
Here are three more from the same event: The Kane Sisters & Edel Fox play reels Blackie O'Connell & Hugh Healy play jigs Caitlin & Bernadette NicGabhann & Antoin MacGabhann play reels All the videos have the same July 2009 date. I'm not sure if it's really last years event or if it's this years event. Thanks Leo

Yes, indeed........eating my heart out :-) The rushing stream sounds especially appealing! I was seriously considering the trip....just couldn't pull it together. But, maybe next year!
