Marien Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 What would be the age of this Ebblewhite concertina? It does show similarity with some early lachenals I have seen - wooden screws anad rosewood ends... It is here on ebay.
wes williams Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Difficult to say - Ebblewhite was advertising as a concertina maker (and importer) from 1850 at 24 High Street, until 1884 when it changed to 4&5 High Street. The two Ebblewhites I know of are imported, which you can only see internally. One is French made and the other seems to be German made.

A picture of the action would probably tell us for sure.
nkgibbs Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I would concur that this Ebblethwaite concertina is most likely a Lachenal rebadge; it looks very much like Lachenal #1950 (circa 1864). Regards, Neil
