malcolm clapp Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Looks identical to one I'm just about to restore, numbered 178877 Bob, can you please tell me the number on yours? Thanks. Hello Malcom 172662 What pitch is yours? Hi, Bob, So a similar age. Originally Ab/Eb by the reed pan markings, but has been concert G/D for the past 25 years to my knowledge. Some reeds have been moved around, others repitched, some by weighting. But the workmanship looks neat, so some one did a very good and careful job with the key conversion. Quite responsive and loud, though the bellows are more holey than righteous, so a bit hard to judge just how well it will come up, but I'm confident.....
Bob Tedrow Posted June 17, 2010 Author Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) I added a little sound clip to that page, nuttin' of course but an idea of the timbre. I added some additional images as well. I am playing with my new webpage maker. Heretofore I was writing simple HTML. I suppose this looks a lot better: http://hmi.Homewood.net/salvationarmy I could never write that code. Guest HallelujahAl! Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Lovely looking job - just a shame that the buttons didn't clean up better? AL
shelly0312 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 HA! Aren't we a funny bunch--I was just thinking that I liked the look of the old buttons; liked the character they help retain (instead of brand-spanking new totally white ones). Its all in personal appeal. That's what's so interesting with this forum! Hoping for some audio files? Better yet, some clips...we love seeing Bob play his only public tune! Michelle SE WIS

I just prefer a nice set of pearly whites. And most bone buttons will clean up very nicely in my experience - hey, even Sally Army buttons AL
