Bob Lusk Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) I'm selling a nice concertina Wheatstone C/G #56450, 8 fold bellows, steel reeds in aluminum shoes. Recently tuned and gone over by the Button Box. This is a fast responsive instrument. Very easy to play. At Noel Hills class last summer he told me that the bellows were well balanced. I bought it from someone on the concertina list about 1 year ago. Selling now because I have too many instruments and it is time to thin the herd. The only thing wrong with this concertina is that someone scratched the names of the notes in the steel ends. I actually didn't notice this until I had the concertina for about 2 weeks. It dopes not show up in photos. There is some normal wear of the plating around some of the buttons. Also the black paint on the end has worn off in spots. I would like to get $2,000 for it. It comes in a serviceable blocked case. I am posting the pictures that came with it when I bought it. Will try to take some new ones within a day or so. Will make the usual donation to concertina.net if it is sold here. Bob Lusk Edited May 18, 2010 by Bob Lusk
Bob Lusk Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 Sorry, of course I meant aluminum shoes, not reeds. The reeds are steel.
Bob Lusk Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Not getting any responses on this so far, I assume I am asking too much. Can anyone give me feedback on what a reasonable price would be given the current economy? Any other suggestions for how to phrase the ad as this heads towards e-bay appreciated. Bob Lusk

Bob Lusk Hi Bob It's only been up for less than 3 complete days, and not everyone comes here during the week. Some only come here on the weekend...... Thanks Leo

Your price seems reasonable to me. The problem may be one of supply and demand -- a lot of these late Wheatstones seem to be coming to market these days.
Bob Lusk Posted June 2, 2010 Author Posted June 2, 2010 I'm lowering the price to $1800, plus actual cost of shipping, insurance. This is really a good concertina and I would be happy to have anyone check it out. Otherwise, I plan to bring it to the Old Song's Festival Musical Instrument Exchange at the end of the month, which is near Albany, NY, where it will be offered for considerably more as I will have to pay a commission, plus sales tax to the festival.
