Geraghty Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Hi all, I'm in a mentoring program and the 13 year old that I've been matched with is a musician. He mainly plays wind instruments but likes my concertinas and has no problem getting a scale out of my C/G Edgley. I don't yet know if he's got the attention span to really want to get into playing, but if he continues to show interest I'd like to get him something (relatively) inexpensive so he can mess around with it on his own time. A hybrid is not realistic for his situation, and I'm not even sure if a Rochelle is appropriate. (He's not my kid, and his family situation is complicated. I don't know if he could handle something expensive with the care it would need.) But, I'm starting to look around to see what I might be able to get for him. Has anyone got an old Rochelle, Merano, Stagi anglo that you want to make a bit of money off of? I know that that class of instrument won't let him get everything out of playing that he could. But I see him once a week and my aim is to provide him with something that will let him get familiar with the notes and layout during the week, and then he can play with my Edgley when he visits. Thanks!
David Levine Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Why is it that posters keep their locations a secret from us? Where is this poster located? That would help us all. Especially in an assumed very low price range.
nkgibbs Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Dear Geraghty, I have a cheap 20b Hohner C/G Anglo starter pack for sale on which might be ideal. Best Regards, Neil

Azalin Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 How could I have missed that?! I've known Beth for many years now, having met her at my first year in Miltown Malbay :-) Whatever she says I can assure you it's true, unless she starts talking about aliens, then I'd say she's a bit delusional

Actually Martin is an alien now, albeit a legal one. Green-carded and everything.
