umslopogaas
vic227, Very nice. Looks identical to the a concertina recently for sale @ http://www.leboncoin.fr/vi/85364258.htm. Is this the same concertina? I tried to buy it , but could not negotiate a safe transaction. The price was fantastic. I would appreciate any details you can provide. umslopogaas
I was mistaken here as I was working from memory. Obviously not the same concertinas as one is 6 sided and the other 8 sided. Bill
ben
Vic's current Crabb concertina on Ebay is octagonal. The other one is hexagonal. Bill, the add you saw features one of Vic's concertinas but the add looks like a scam. Somebody is using Vic's pictures. Vic only sells his instruments on this forum as well as on Ebay. Vic lives in Australia...far from France or any French speaking territory. Be ready to pay between $6,000.00 to $8,000.00 for a 1980's 40 button Crabb C/G concertina. umslopogaas
vicc227 & other readers, I thought I should add some additional information to explain the confusion with my first two postings. Back in December, I tried to buy the 6 sided, 40 button Crabb @ http://www.leboncoin...i/85364258.htm. The price, as I noted was fantastic, almost too good to be true, I always welcome a good deal, but they are rare. The attachment shows pictures of the six sided concertina beside thvic227's on ebay. You can see my confusion. The setting is quite similar but the concertinas and sellers are different. My apologies for any confusion. Bill Hi Bill, I sold the six sided (hexagonal) Crabb in June 2008 to a lady in Antrim, England. Serial number 18485. Built in Dec 1975. It went for 3672 Pound on eBay. Just as well you were cautious and did a bit of homework. Regards Vic.

If you are interested in a 40 key anglo Crabb concertina then contact Vic Tromp. He may just have another one available.
olier29
hi, thanks for the answer, I think we should really be carefull about this guy because he certified me the concertina was a really good opportunity for only 700 euros!!
david fabre
I also saw the one on "leboncoin.fr" . I contacted the person, and he did not answer any of my questions ; instead he proposed me very strange ways of making the transaction ( e-bay should contact me to tell me how to do the payment) For me it's almost certainly a scam ; i hope nobody here tried to buy it. Steve_freereeder
The scam continues .... Crabb 40-key hexagonal anglo No. 18485 has turned up again on a Californian 'for sale' website. http://sanfernando.olx.com/40-key-crabb-anglo-concertina-iid-11846202 Only $2000 (approx 1326 UK pounds. Definitely too good to be true, I thought, so I did a bit of searching through the forum and found this thread!
