looking to Play

I travel some and am always looking for a place where I can sit, enjoy a pint, and listen to music. I would be interested in knowing where in your city (yes even Scandinavia and the UK) one can go and even sit in to play. When we were in Edinburgh this past summer we went to Sandy Bells most nights and had quite a good time of it.
