Greg Jowaisas
It's here. OK. Daniel, I know you are waiting for comments, so I'll bite: Could have an interesting hisstory. Perfect accompanying instrument for a pub crawl. THE instrument for playing the Monty Python theme. I'm sure there will be other contributions to thread creep. s2maur
Daniel and Greg, I went to a barn dance in New Braunfels, Texas back in the late '80's. The place was filled with people of Czech descent. When I walked in, people were doing a line dance to a Czech polka and I seem to re-call a band member playing an instrument similar to the one you just spotted on ebay. How it would have made it back across the pond to England is a mystery unless the maker made more than one of them or maybe the band member died and willed it to a relative back in Europe. How was that for a bite. Steve

Greg Jowaisas
Hmm! We could expect this concertina to be used for sound bites. Perhaps the keys are rattlesnake buttons. Greg
Robin Harrison
................personally, I think you're all wrong. Clearly the snake was trying to swallow the concertina and lost interest half-way through. Just thought I'd adder comment. Robin
Chris Drinkwater
Perhaps if you shake it, it rattles? Chris
Greg Jowaisas
I suppose in the final analysis you'd just be playing scales on this instrument. Greg

Chris Drinkwater
The instrument has a certain charm and probably an interesting hiss-tory attached to it. I guess once bitten, there's no known antidote. Chris

Chris Chris, They neglected to inform you that the owner before her was titled and Sir Robert Pence. The instrument, of course, was referred to as the Sir Pence concertina. jdms
...the owner before her was titled and Sir Robert Pence. The instrument, of course, was referred to as the Sir Pence concertina. Greg I would point out that "Sir" goes with the first name, not the last, but that might be too constricting.
