Dear All,

Who made this?

Is anyone else having problems with the post editor ??

Thanks,

Neil

Hmm! I'd vote Jones, but levers, posts and shoes will tell.

Dear Theo,

You may want to have another vote when you see these photos; lettered white keys, wooden baffles, hardwood action pan, hook pivots and open reed clamps......... :o

Best Regards, Neil

Nickolds wins at the post! And the notched clamp makes it a slam dunk!

Dear Theo,

What me? I never said nuffink, I wasn't there, wherever there was....

But I do agree with Greg, the action has the Nickolds hallmarks.

Dear Theo and Greg,

Many thanks for your replies and apologies for the slight name confusion.

I am having problems with the reply editor in that I can't actually see what I am t5yping but this is still not an excuse for senility.

Best Wishes,

Neil

See this topic for solution (that is, for your t5yping problem) ;)

Dear Leonard et al,

Many thanks for your link.......my reply box is now fully functional. biggrin.gif

I agree with the Nickolds diagnosis; the action is exactly the same as an Anglo of mine that Roy Whitely restored a few years back and the fretwork looks the same as an English in the Horniman collection.

The number 8687 is stamped onto one of the wooden baffles but there is no number inside the concertina.........does anyone know how to date Nickold's Englishes?

Best Regards,

Neil
