moonsagotunes Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I have Barfly for ABC music notation on my Mac Mini. It's an unregistered version and I can't easily register it because I don't have internet connection (except for my T-mobile phone). Does anyone know if there exists any code for things like 'D.C. Al Fine' and 'D.S. Al Fine?' If you don't wish to elaborate but can at least say there is, or is not, any such code -- I'd know if I should keep looking for it. Thanks.
David Barnert Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Hi, Wendy. BarFly knows how to draw a segno (use a W to indicate it in the abc code) and the "D.C.," "D.S.," "Fine," etc., can be notated as guitar chords (ie., in quotes) so you can produce a page that is appropriately notated for a human reader to follow the intended route, but BarFly will not follow the instructions and play it the way you want unless you include a "P:" line in the header that spells it all out.
moonsagotunes Posted January 23, 2010 Author Posted January 23, 2010 I found the notes about using a 'P:' field, though I've yet to get that right... did make another important discovery -- the use of a 'y' to lengthen a space ('x' works, too, but I guess acts more like an invisible actual rest with time value). I posted my results at twitpic (most recent 2 pics, only the older one being the notation). twitpic.com/photos/bellowbelle
