TRHender Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 I have discovered a small leak in my bellows. I was wondering if there is any kind of repair I can do myself without having to send my concertina away.
Greg Jowaisas Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Hi TR, Before you attempt any repair yourself I would stongly suggest you get the Dave Elliott book on concertina maintenace and repair. The book provides a good overview of how concertinas live and function and includes several sections on bellow repair and patching. Dave's book does an excellent job of walking the fine line between encouraging a hands on approach to maintaining your concertina's health and well being and discouraging ill conceived adventurism on repairs better left to the professional. You didn't mention the make, or what kind of concertina you have. That could make a difference in the decision to do a self repair or seeking a professional. I wish you luck in all your concertina adventures. Remember the physician's credo: "First, do no harm." (Did I get it right this time, Dr. Dave?) Greg
