The concertina curious, duet enthusiasts and in particular Jeffries duet concertina fans in the London area may be interested to know that Julie and I are doing a rare London gig at the Islington Folk Club on the 1st October.

If you need to whet your appetite, you might like to hear the song we've learned most recently - Frank Loesser's wonderful if finger-busting Slow boat to China. I hope I can be forgiven for posting about two events on this board in such short order!

There's more about this splendid London club including its programme and how to find your way there at the club's website maintained by fellow concertinist Martin Nail: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/martin.nail/Islington/IFCintro.htm

Yes, do come along folks. It'll be a great night. Gavin and Julie are a wonderful pairing in a 1930's timewarp! I shall be there as usual, playing my tenor-treble with the resident Angel Band. So, there will be at least one person in the audience!

Glad it's only finger-busting, Gav, and not ankle-busting!
