  1. HI there, I know a few of us have owned or looked at the Harry Geuns basic model hybrid bandoneon/accordion. I'm generally happy with it but looking at getting Harry to upgrade the reeds - good but expensive! So I was thinking about upgrading other elements myself to save money if possible. - The buttons are a bit basic, screw in white plastic buttons. Is anybody familiar enough to say if these are standard and can be upgraded to something better looking? Would it help to post dimensions, thread etc.? - The bellows are also a bit basic. Let's say I could find a set of traditional bellows of the correct dimensions, good condition. Is it a difficult thing to replace bellows and get a good seal? Of course, if anybody knows of a used Harry Geuns with proper reeds, that would be even better but I don't think they come up much. Kind regards, Paul

    inking on Buttons

For the 'beginner' concertinas that had the names of the notes stamped into the buttons, what was used to ink them in?
  3. I have a Wren concertina fron McNeela in Ireland. I have had it about two years. Not long after I got it one key would sometimes stick open. In 2018 I was in the hospital for 101 days and in bed about 6 months. When I finally felt like playing my concertina had about 5 buttons sticking. When some buttons are pressed, they catch other buttons and open them as well. Does anyone have any advice? i am fairly handy with tools, but don’t know what the insides looks like. The Wren has good reviews, I have not been happy with mine.
  4. Hi All. Sorry if this exists already but I couldn't find it. Just acquired a small D/A Scholer Anglo that plays OK but has 2 buttons missing altogether. Nothing on the web that I can find. Anyone any ideas what to replace then with? Also - It does look like they will just glue directly on to the lever but if anyone has a better idea I would appreciate it.
