    C/G Edgley for Sale

For Sale: Edgley C/G concertina - great condition. Asking price $2100 (not including shipping). It has a modified Jeffries layout, 30 button, with C#s on the draw and press top inside right button and also on the press on the next button. It is in great condition and was fully refurbished by the button box about 4 years ago. It has not been played very much in the last couple of years because I have another instrument. It is a hybrid model, meaning that it is a high-quality concertinas made using Italian accordion-style reeds. The sound is really lovely and it plays very easily - no bellows leaks at all. It is number 286 as you can see in the pictures. It comes with a hard case, which was originally for another concertina. FYI, I am located in the western U.S. Thanks, Claire

    C/G Edgley Professional For Sale

Hello all, I went to the dark side and bought a button accordion. But before I get excommunicated from the group, I'd like to offer my 30 button hybrid Edgley Anglo concertina up for sale here before posting it on eBay. Hand made by Frank Edgley, I took delivery of #502 in April 2014 for over $2,600 U.S., including case. It's his Professional model with angled reed pans, 7 bellows, Indian Rosewood with metal ends. Plays fast and sounds great. It's been well kept in a sealed Pelican "Storm Case" (included) and has no leaks or signs of wear except for the paint is somewhat worn off of the hand rests. Asking $2,000 U.S., shipping to U.S. included. Located in Tom's River, NJ, USA. Pics attached, contact me with any questions. Thanks, Neil Calore

    Edgley Heritage For Sale

EDGLEY 'HERITAGE' CONCERTINA FOR SALE. A 'Heritage' concertina for sale (located in Ireland). As Frank Edgley writes on his website of these instruments: "These are our top-of-the-line concertinas. These concertinas are made in the traditional way, with separate hardwood reedpans. The reeds are top quality traditional concertina reeds with steel tongues and brass reed shoes and are very similar to the reeds used by Wheatstone in the late 1800s and early 1900s ---the Golden Age of Concertinas. This concertina has ebony ends with stainless steel end plates. As you'll see in the photos, I customised mine, fitting what I think are nice bellows papers to decorate it, and thicker, gilt-decorated leather handles, which in my opinion provides an easier grip. The instrument is a standard Wheatstone, except that I ordered it with two C# buttons: a push C# on the first button on the RHS top row, and a pull C# beside it; I like it that way, but they could easily be reversed if it's a Jeffreys layout you're after. The concertina is in more or less perfect condition, and it plays sweetly and quickly. I'm selling it reluctantly, because I do love it, but I have a genuine reason for selling it on - definitely NOT because I don't like it! Email me (heather.cleggan@gmail.com) or phone +353-(0)95-44845 if you would like to discuss

    C/g 31-Button Suttner For Sale

HI there I'm offering a 31-button Suttner C/G A2 model, Jeffries tuned concertina for sale. It has polished ebony ends, seven bellows folds, and very pretty gilt bellows papers. Sice it has been played, it's nice and loose; but it hasn't been played very much and is in 'as new' condition. The 31st button is a C drone (it comes along with a low D reed and brass reed plate should anyone want that). I have a genuine reason for selling it. I and it are based in the west of Ireland, but it can be sent anywhere in the world at little cost. It happens to be the concertina featured on the front cover of the tutor "The Concertina Diaries", and since that's the only photo I have at the moment, I'm attaching that picture. But I can take more photos of the instrument and send them to anyone interested in buying. If interested, maybe mail me privately, at heather.cleggan@gmail.com Heather
  8. For Sale: Lachenal 30 Key G/D Rosewood Anglo Concertina Serial number 139095, circa 1890 Regrettably I'm looking to sell my Anglo, as I've come to the realisation that the Anglo isn't the concertina keyboard I'm looking for right now, and though I've enjoyed my time with this concertina it's had little usage in the past couple of months. I've now got a really rather lovely Maccann Duet which I want to direct all my attentions to! This is a nice condition rosewood Lachenal, probably an Ab/Eb originally that has been tuned down. It's responsive for a G/D and much nicer than the other G/D conversions I've tried. It has wooden rosewood fretwork; no cracks anywhere, but there are gouges from fingernails (in antiquity!) around some of the buttons. Any marks or blemishes should be visible in the photographs. Some of the bone buttons are domed over from years of wear. It has new 7 fold bellows, new straps, and it's in tune. The action isn't loud to my ears but I guess that depends on your style of play. It speaks quickly and has a nice range of volume, tending to the louder-end. Works very nicely for morris music. I bought this from Chris Algar in February (I think) soon after he had had it restored. I then had the buttons bushed and all the pads replaced (lowering the action) by Marcus Music shortly afterwards. I also bought it a hard case (a Peli Storm case) in which it has been kept since. I'm looking for £1900 for it. You're welcome to come and try it if you're nearby; I live in Cardiff, 20 minutes from Marcus Music. If I still have it at the time, I could bring it to Melodeons at Witney for anyone going to that who'd like to try it out. Here is a full album of photographs (apologies if any are blurry): http://imgur.com/a/LjvHG There are some recordings I've posted over time with this instrument on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/robotmay/sets/anglo-concertina I've got a video that I'm currently uploading to YouTube too, but that might not be sorted until tomorrow as it needs chopping up a bit!
  9. Hi, I am selling my 30 button C/G Morse concertina. It is number #122, so it is a classic from the early days - but last winter, in anticipation of selling it, I had it completely refurbished by the Button Box (new bellows and bushings, valves checked, wax replaced and tuned). They did a beautiful job and it plays really well, though could still use some breaking in after the re-build. It is a modified Jeffries layout with three c# because I added a c# on the push (first finger on rt). FYI, I live in the Western U.S. for purposes of contacting me and mailing. Please email me at clairezu247@gmail.com if you are interested. Thanks, Claire

Lachenal 56 Button Concertina For Sale

Hi folks, hopefully I am in the right area to advertise a concertina. I’m not actually a musician but the grandson of one! Following my grandfather’s and now, grandmother’s death, we are beginning to part with some of his possessions. I believe he played it for open air services when he was a minister, and this site seems to have members genuinely interested in the instruments and their music. It is a Lachenal Concertina. I believe it's a 56 button ‘duet'? possibly a baritone? with metal fret ends, metal buttons and it looks in nice cosmetic condition and it’s in its original case. (serial number 58874) My ignorance means I don’t know if it makes a good sound (it certainly doesn’t in my hands) - every button creates a sound although one of the buttons sticks a bit and one of the finger straps has broken. I don't know it's value so I'd be pleased to get members' input on this, or make me an offer. I have attached photos and will endeavour to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
