UPDATE: SOLD. Donation made to concertina.net. My sister passed away and I'd like to sell her McNeela Phoenix concertina. I believe it is 5 years old. 30 button, Anglo C/G Jeffries layout. It is in very good playable condition. There is no shortage on this forum about the merits of McNeela concertinas , so look up the subject and see the different opinions. This is a very decent, beginner/intermediate concertina, light weight, fast fingering. Selling new right now on their website for $1800. If you are interested, I could send videos of me playing it to hear the sound. Asking $1200, including hard case. Shipping will be negotiated. I'm located in US. I will donate 3% to Concertina.net. Will accept reasonable offers.

July 13th update for information - NOW SOLD. For sale in mint condition - hardly used. Purchased earlier in 2025. As an accordionist, very happy with its playability & fantastic sound quality. Am only selling it since I'm feeling the Concertina isn't for me & I want it to go to a good home where it will be played and enjoyed. Am suggesting a guide price of £700, which is considerably lower than the sale price new on McNeela's website open to serious offers. Here is McNeela Regondi webpage, for more detailed information on the instrument. Located in Somerset, the instrument is available for collection, or posted on request and by agreement. Any questions, please reply to me here. Thanks, Gary

I have a Wren concertina fron McNeela in Ireland. I have had it about two years. Not long after I got it one key would sometimes stick open. In 2018 I was in the hospital for 101 days and in bed about 6 months. When I finally felt like playing my concertina had about 5 buttons sticking. When some buttons are pressed, they catch other buttons and open them as well. Does anyone have any advice? i am fairly handy with tools, but don’t know what the insides looks like. The Wren has good reviews, I have not been happy with mine.

Hey everybody, this is my first post here. I'm Philipp, 25 years old, I come from Germany (Kaiserslautern) and usually play the piano at irish folk sessions. As a second (more transportable ) instrument, I'm thinking about buying a concertina. By searching on the internet, I learned a lot about the construction, the different button layouts and which layout is convenient for irish folk. During my search, I came across an intermediate concertina from McNeela (Phoenix): http://www.mcneelamusic.com/the-phoenix-concertina/ Now the question is whether this is an instrument I will enjoy for a longer time (several years) or will there a need to upgrade after a fairly short time? Has anyone experience with this model? Are there any significant differences between Czechoslovakian and Italian reeds (tipo a mano) with respect to the sound or response, respectively? Thanks in advance! Philipp
