  1. For Sale: Wheatstone Aeola 48 button English Concertina. Serial #24873, Key of C. I purchased this Concertina from Barleycorn Concertinas in England, and recently (2013) had it serviced at The Button Box in Massachusetts. Falling within the dear and lost years periods of the Wheatstone company, this Ebony ended concertina has unique fretwork, and is in perfect playing condition. All buttons play clearly and in perfect pitch. I am located in the Western United States. I have never used this forum before, but am aware of the 2% donation policy. I am located in Montana but will be traveling to Southern California next week and can bring the instrument with me. Please see four detailed pictures below:
  2. Hey folks. Up for sale is my basically brand new Jackie concertina. There are NO marks, scratches, dents, or damage of any kind as far as I can tell. Whenver I played it I was always gentle, and whenever I was finished it was placed back into it's gig bag. Also included is the book that came with it on how to play. The book DOES have some wear and tear, but is still completely readable/usable. here is my craigslist link: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/esd/msg/5218745213.html I am still very much a beginner on the instrument and would love to keep improving, but I've fallen on some hard times and I am forced to sell some of my favorite things, including my musical instruments. I purchased this concertina for about $420 shipped, so I'd love to see it go for $400, mainly because that would keep me going for another week, but I know that's asking a lot considering it is technically a used concertina. If possible, I'd prefer it to be someone local so I don't have to ship it, but I will if I have no other choice. Thank you everyone.
  3. Hi All I am a newbie to Concertina.net and I have been playing for two years now. I have learned on an Anglo Stagi and have acquired a vintage 48 key Wheatstone. I could adapt to the Wheatstone fingering but I'd prefer to sell or exchange for an upgrade to an Anglo 30 key of similar quality. Please advise me as I need your expertise. Long live the music and this forum.
  4. I have a beautiful and virtually un-used Frank Edgley "Professional" Model Concertina for sale: # 511. This was built for me last Fall (2014) after a month long trip that I made to Ireland. I thought that I would take up the concertina, but my guitar keeps calling me..... This is a beautiful Eucalyptus burl wood concertina with rosewood trim. It also has ebony handles with Eucalyptus capping and Bright Stainless, Tree of Life patterned ends, C/G Wheatstone layout model, 30 buttons, 7 bellow folds, slanted reed pans and more. Concertina also comes with custom built Frank Edgley case for the superior protection of this beauty. Frank's pics of my Instrument: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tfjxSo6wBtI/VQxB9Wn0y3I/AAAAAAAAAYY/rulQja7gVvM/s1600/IMG_7460.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wfK3bfMmoJg/VQxCCVGKFaI/AAAAAAAAAYg/53sfoVrjy08/s1600/IMG_7468.jpg I am asking $2450 shipped insured in the U.S. I will ship overseas if desired but would have to charge for the extra shipping. I will accept PayPal for payment I haven't learned to play this instrument. As stated it is virtually Brand new. In addition, I will include: · The Anglo Concertina, Absolute Beginners Tutorial, by Chris Sherburn and Dave Mallinson · Bertram Levy’s “Anglo Concertina Demystified" book with 2 CDs · Frank Edgley’s “How to Play the Anglo Concertina” DVD . 5. Bought this around 2008 at Hobgobln's in London for over 2000 GBP (about $3,125 USD). Asking price $2,500 USD. I can send pix, video to interested parties. The concertina itself could be viewed in person at a variety of locations: Utica New York, Washington DC, Colorado Springs, or Marlow England, depending on where you are and what time of year it is..... b.l.losiewicz@gmail.com. Xe.com is a good place to check out currency conversion. I could accept payment in dollars or pounds. good playable condition. I am selling it because I bought a Lachenal to replace it.
  6. I am selling my Kensington anglo concertina. It is Numer 048 which I got from David Levine who purchased it from Dana Johnson in March, 2012. It is in perfect, like new condition. It comes in the original hard case – also in excellent condition – and with the original tool-kit that Dana provides with every concertina. It plays beautifully, is in perfect tune, and is a lovely instrument in every respect. I am asking 2.750€ for it but I am also open for reasonable offers. Shipping and insurance will be extra. Dana’s website, with more pictures, is http://www.kensingtonconcertinas.com/ Here is an excellent discussion about the instrument, from 2005: http://www.concertin...?showtopic=3004and here is the link to Davids post http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=16149&hl=kensington Any questions? info(at)at-work.de

Here's a little video of me playing it. (Also posted on the eBay listing.)

  9. No 36613 chrome plated ends, stained black wood work, eight fold bellows, original case with the usual Wheatstone labels all in top class condition-modern pitch in great playing order. £2000 no offers.Located near Sheffield,South Yorkshire.Selling as I now mainly play the anglo and I have a number of other English concertinas.Send me a PM if you are genuinely interested.
  10. This is a stock C/G Stagi W-15 LN that was "Turboed" by Bob Tedrow of Homewood Music. He put brass bushings and brass buttons on the stock concertina as the plastic ones were prone to stick. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember reading that he did something to make the action work smoother also. I never played a stock Stagi, so I have nothing to compare it to. I sent it to the Button Box to refurbish the bellows at which time they put leather patches where needed (see pictures and video). Takes 10 full seconds to expand from fully compressed with no buttons pressed. The screen between the grill and the reeds on the right hand side is pushed in a little, but does not affect the sound or function of the concertina. I've played it for 8 years and have upgraded to an Edgley Professional (love it, by the way!) This is a great beginner/intermediate instrument for a good price. New W-15 LN goes for $900 at the Button Box. I'm asking $500 or best offer before I put it on eBay. See pics and YouTube video HERE A few tunes HERE
  11. I currently have for sale on ebay our grandad's concertina. It is a vintage model and needs restoration, love and TLC. 13. This is A 36 key, with a C drone, C/G Wheatsone Linota concertina. It was made in 1918, serial number 27845. This instrument is in good condition. It has been serviced regularly by Tim Collins and Noel Hill since I've had it. It is very easy to play and sounds great If you have any questions feel free to contact me at gannonsmusicshop@gmail.com. Click on the video below to view and hear this instrument. Picture of the serial number attached. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Vintage-Wheatstone-Linota-Concertina-for-sale-made-in-1918-/171212259642?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27dd0bc13a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruv0OR4OAOs
  14. So, this concertina has a lovely tone. I had purchased it, thinking that it would be my thing, but instead fell in love with the piano accordion, meaning that this little beastie has been sitting in it's case, having only ever had a few tunes played on it. It needs a more loving home! Technical info on it: It is a 48-button Stagi, Model A48-S English Concertina Treble Range (it's not super high and squeaky like a lot of them--it's got a nice, rich tone to it). 6-fold Leather Bellows Steel Reeds Weighs a little over three pounds Six sided Made in Italy Mahogany colored wood, with a herringbone edge Leather thumb straps Metal finger braces Highest note is C, lowest is G Like I mentioned, this instrument really hasn't ever been played, so the all of it, bellows included will last a good long time. I'm asking $750 for it. It comes with a black hard case with a handle, which is also brand new. I've put up a Craigslist posting for this, so that you can have a look at the photos, since my file sizes are too large to load here. Here's the link! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/msg/4152374121.html
  15. This Concertina has been sold! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I believe this to be a late C19th / early C20th instrument. It was one of a collection belonging to the late Chris Chipchase & although he had a number of Jeffries, this was his favourite. It is a beautiful looking instrument, very loud & very easily played with the characteristic bark of a quality Jeffries Concertina. The reeds are all in tune & the bellows are only a few years old & are like new. To hear this Concertina in action, visit my site: Concertina Tunes from North Antrim: http://angloconcertina.podbean.com/ I would prefer to sell this instrument in Ireland, as I do not wish to send this it by post. However, although I live on the North Coast, I am willing to travel to meet the lucky buyer ~ half-way. I bought this lovely Concertina about two years ago, but for the past year, due to a muscle problem in my left arm, I have been unable to play more than a couple of tunes, on Concertina or Fiddle, at any gig or session. Despite Physio. this problem refuses to get any better, so rather than just gathering dust here, I have reluctantly decided to let this one go on to a new home, where it will receive much more deserved playing attention than I can or will be able to give it. A few members here will perhaps remember this instrument, including anyone who bought any of the other Chris Chipchase Concertinas & anyone who knows me, or has bumped into me. It owes me £4,000 & I have no desire to make any profit on it, I only wish it to go to a good home. I won't be putting it on eBay, so the first genuine matching offer will secure this fine Concertina. Cheers, Dick
  16. Really nice toned Wheatstone Anglo C/G 30 button concertina in excellent condition. The serial number is #57200 (made in March 1955). The steel reeds are set in aluminium frames. The original 6 fold bellows are in excellent condition. This concertina comes with a 1950's concertina carrying case. The concertina is played regularly at local sessions and has a beautifully mellow tone and as to be expected from a Wheatstone, is very responsive and has a nice action. There are definite signs of wear on the concertina as to be expected. It may be possible to meet at an agreed appropriate 'half-way' point for prospective buyer to view. I'm looking around £1,200 for the concertina as it is well worth that sort of money. If interested you can contact me through the forum or call Paul on 0044 78 01 15 31 04.
  17. Hi, I have a 30 key Suttner A3 Linota for sale ebony ends, perfectly in tune Comes with hard case The instrument is about one year old and has not been played much, very clean, beautiful instrument. Asking price is 5.500 Eur. Please contact +353-86-4456309 for more details
  18. For Sale: Wheatstone Aeola Treble, #27864 48 keys, 6 fold bellows, steel reeds, brass mounts, concert pitch, lovely tone, original leather case Original manufacture: May 8th, 1919 (http://www.horniman.info/DKNSARC/SD01/PAGES/D1P1150S.HTM) Refubished: 2009 by that nice Mr Gibb @ theboxplace - incl pads, valves, thumbstraps & retuning The concertina came to me from a lady who was sorting out her grandfathers effects - the only history I have is "he'd had it all his life" - but I doubt that was from new. You can see in the photos that the fretwork has slots for bowing levers. There is no mechanism and indeed there are no airholes in the actionboard base or the reedpan (i.e. it was built like this). Leather case is OK for storage but I'd recommend a new case if you're you going to be taking it out It's an excellent player - classic Aeola versatility, ready to go and just looking for the right person to make beautiful music with. Reason for sale: one in, one out! Price: £2700 incl UK delivery Location: Northumberland & occasionally elsewhere (ask!) Donation to C.Net - irrespective of sale. thanks Rob
