  1. Hi fellow bards, after enjoying my CC Elise for a year and a half (while also playing anglo) it's time to upgrade to a next-level Hayden with more keys. I know it easier to find a McCann or Crane but the Hayden system makes more sense to me, for now. Or change my mind, i'm open to that. That being said, looking for a second-hand Stagi by Concertine Italia or else (can't afford a new Jay for now) in the EU-zone (i live in Italy) to avoid the huge import taxes or I could fly to the UK for a very good deal. thank you 🥰
  2. This concertina is now sold. ******** Selling this beautiful bubinga wooden ended C/G Edgley with accordion reeds. I got it new from Frank at the beginning of 2012. I played it for a while and then sold it to a friend, when I got my Jeffries. It is now for sale, as friend’s interests changed to different kind of music. During the time with the friend it has suffered a drop (kids…) and left-hand end-grill was damaged and re-glued as you can see in the pictures. It is stable though and doesn’t affect the playing. The sound is very sweet, though obviously not as powerful as Jeffries, but it still holds its own in a session. The response is really quick, better than the older instruments that I posses. Wheatstone layout. Selling for EUR1600 + postage, no case. Will be sent from Czech republic, so no taxes/customs in Europe. Will post a recording soon. Pictures here.
  3. Brexit is supposed to go into effect Jan. 31, 2020. Then the UK will no longer be part of the EU tariff union. I've read that certain tariff agreements with other countries will continue (or be copied?), but that others will need to be (re?)negotiated. So what happens while those negotiations are taking place? Will there be no tariffs on shipments to/from those countries? Will trade with those countries come to a halt until tariffs are put in place? But in particular, what is happening between the EU and the UK? I expect that eventually there will be tariffs on at least some goods, but I haven't read that any such tariffs have yet been passed into law. If they're part of the "Agreement", I don't know where to find them. If not, then what happens when a bought/sold concertina is declared to customs between Jan. 31 and when tariff laws are passed by the two governments? In 10 days, this could become very relevant.
