  1. I am selling this beautiful George Case 48-key baritone English concertina in superb condition inside out. Brass reeds, double-chambered, and in modern pitch. Original bellows with a good compression and flexibility. Plays very nicely, with a sweet, mellow tone. No repairer’s label but it seems to have been worked on at some point, being tuned at A=440 Hz. It could do with some minor adjustments/repairs here and there, but certainly nothing major! Comes with its original hexagonal case, also in good condition. The asking price is £1000 + postage. Can be shipped abroad. More info and photos available on request.
  2. Hello, I'm looking to purchase a model of concertina maybe a little faster and more responsive than my own. I currently have a 30 button c/g rosewood lachenal. I was hoping to buy a suttner, carrol, wheatstone or jeffries. Let me know if anyone out there is looking to part with something along these lines. Cheers
  3. FOR SALE: 1893-1894 English Wheatstone, SN 21701, 56 metal key extended treble. In good condition, played moderately since my purchase about 20 years ago from The Button Box in Amherst MA. Shows normal wear. Prior to my purchase instrument was reconditioned; felt bushings replaced. Bellows in good condition with minor leather wear. Great sound, with small fretwork damage on one side; playing unaffected. Asking $1200 plus shipping cost from Massachusetts, USA. Additional photos available and happy to answer any questions. I'm selling as I've been bitten by the Uilleann pipes. Congratulations and condolences accepted.
  4. Keith Kendrick & Sylvia Needham, on tour from the UK, present an evening concert of English ballads, songs, and music in Montague Center, MA, on June 18, 2016. Their wide-ranging repertoire leans towards Derbyshire dialect and maritime. Between them, they play English, duet, and Anglo concertinas, and they are known for their striking a capella harmony as well. The afternoon workshop, "Playing by Ear: the How and the Why" is appropriate for all English and duet concertinas, and for Anglo concertinas in C/G or G/D. Participants should have a handle on playing the instrument, as this is not a lesson in how to play, as such. Sponsored by The Button Box, in Sunderland, MA. For more information and to register for the workshop, see http://www.buttonbox.com/kendrick.html or contact The Button Box.
