  1. Stagi Anglo "Gremlin", 30button C/G concertina in excellent condition. There is a hard shell case included. I've had if for a couple of years, but have played it very little because I was tempted by another concertina and ended up buying both in a relatively short time. For now, one seems sufficient. There is a slight press mark on one side, but you would have to look very close to ever see it. The concertina is black, if you would like to see pictures I can email you or text them to you. $1165 new. Asking $450.
  2. For anyone that didn't know or might have missed it, Mike Harding featured a track by Jody Kruskal on his folk show last night: http://www.mixcloud.com/mikeharding10/the-mike-harding-folk-show-number-80/ Great to hear some old-time concertina. Dean
  3. Hello everyone ! I am new here, maybe because I just started doing concertina in July. So now I live in Tokyo, Japan, and I would like to take anglo concertina's lessons. Does anyone know some concertina teacher here in Tokyo ? Thank you very much ! (by the way, for the one who live in Tokyo, the concertina player Kato san will do a workshop the 15th of december !)
  4. This Concertina has been sold! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I believe this to be a late C19th / early C20th instrument. It was one of a collection belonging to the late Chris Chipchase & although he had a number of Jeffries, this was his favourite. It is a beautiful looking instrument, very loud & very easily played with the characteristic bark of a quality Jeffries Concertina. The reeds are all in tune & the bellows are only a few years old & are like new. To hear this Concertina in action, visit my site: Concertina Tunes from North Antrim: http://angloconcertina.podbean.com/ I would prefer to sell this instrument in Ireland, as I do not wish to send this it by post. However, although I live on the North Coast, I am willing to travel to meet the lucky buyer ~ half-way. I bought this lovely Concertina about two years ago, but for the past year, due to a muscle problem in my left arm, I have been unable to play more than a couple of tunes, on Concertina or Fiddle, at any gig or session. Despite Physio. this problem refuses to get any better, so rather than just gathering dust here, I have reluctantly decided to let this one go on to a new home, where it will receive much more deserved playing attention than I can or will be able to give it. A few members here will perhaps remember this instrument, including anyone who bought any of the other Chris Chipchase Concertinas & anyone who knows me, or has bumped into me. It owes me £4,000 & I have no desire to make any profit on it, I only wish it to go to a good home. I won't be putting it on eBay, so the first genuine matching offer will secure this fine Concertina. Cheers, Dick
  5. Viennese song for Anglo Concertina "O, Du Lieber Augustin"
  6. Robert Burns: "The Winter It Is Past" for anglo concertina C/G 30-Button
  7. I'm still trying to sell my Jones Anglo concertina. I'll be at the gathering in Massachusetts this Saturday if anyone wants to try it. Also have a good quality 2 row I had from Chris Alger a few years ago. It's a no name but has real concertina reeds. Was repaired by David Leese at one time. Mahongany ends. Asking $700. Jones 3 row Anglo – 30 buttons. 6 fold bellows. I believe this is what they call a broad reed concertina – good for song accompaniment. Bought from Chris Alger 6 years ago – serviced at Button Box 3 years ago, it is in good working condition. 1 button, the C# on the 3rd row is in an unusual position. Not played much recently as I switched to English. A/F A/Bb C#/Eb A/G G#/Bb C/Eb G#/A C#/Bb A/F C/Eb Asking $1400 or would be willing to trade for a comparable English concertina. It will come in a padded bag. Will make the usual donation to concertina.net if it is sold here. Bob Lusk 845-594-4412
  8. As you asked, I posted three years ago several links to galician tunes that we recorded in video live for the launch of the third album by Pancho Álvarez one of the most talented galician folk musicians. We play with him from time to time when he has enough time if he isn't doing gigs with the famous galician piper Carlos Nuñez. The concertina isn't very well played for several reasons but the tunes are fine. You can see them in you tube searching for Pancho Alvarez or with the direct links two galician muiñeiras that played the blind fiddler Florencio dos Vilares "ahi vai" and "a miña burriña", 2/4 and a foliada or xota. two galician muiñeiras more. Another tune in which I play the concertina is in this arrangement of a galician muiñeira and a carballesa (we added to it a minor part) that we played many years ago when we founded Felpeyu, I played the tunes with uilleann pipe then and as it hasn't the sensible, C #, note below D, we had to change a bit some notes of the tune. I posted links to tunes (only music) recorded with pipes, bouzouki, concertina and flute by us about ten years ago in the topic about playing small pipes melodies with the concertina, in the general discussion forum by Jody Kruskal. Thankyou in advance for your interest in our music. Félix Castro (& Cástor)
