  19. The Ruffian's Rant. . A four part Scottish Strathspey composed by Robert Bremner & first published in 1757. Robert Burns used the melody for his song - 'Theniel Menzies' Bonnie Mary'. In fact Burns must have really liked this melody because his song "In Commin' by the Brig o' Dye" in The Caledonian Museum (1770, No. 156) and three songs in his 'Merry Muses of Caledonia' (published after his death, in 1800) were also directed to be sung to it.
