  1. One of the buttons on my 40-button Wheatstone anglo snapped. A repair shop was able to extract the broken pieces of the button from the concertina, but I need to now find a single replacement button. Is there a place that I can go to buy one of these? I'm going to cover the hole in the meantime so dust doesn't get in. The lever mechanism and cover are both intact, so it's just replacing the button. Any suggestions?
  2. I'm so sorry to hear this. My condolences to her family during this difficult time. Quite sad.
  3. I made these videos of the Wheatstone concertina I bought from carlfromsouthafrica. Enjoy! http://instagram.com/p/vq0eKbSd6Q/ http://instagram.com/p/vq0KueSd4C/
  4. I have some experience playing a Rochelle that a friend had purchased on a whim and I noticed that the action was significantly stiffer than that of the Lachenal that I'm used to playing. I highly suggest spending the extra money and purchasing a restored antique.
  5. The only tunes she teaches in the free lessons are Maggie in the Woods and Terry Teehan's. I'm not sure what the paid lessons include.
  6. I saw these and they're really cool. The diagrams with the buttons are really helpful (although I've found an error in them already). I've already run through the free lessons and am thinking of subscribing when my new concertina arrives.
  7. I've got a great Lachenal 20-button anglo, but it doesn't work for playing most Irish tunes. I've had a lot of fun playing Morris tunes, though, so that's worked out well. The anglo with more buttons will allow me to play the Irish tunes. I've definitely been checking out OAIM. I'll check out the books and see what's up. Thanks for the info!
  8. Is anyone here living in the central coast of California? If so, I'd be interested in getting together to get some lessons. I'm playing Irish music on an Anglo.
  9. I'm the Ian Martyn from Los Angeles. Sorry, forgot I was set to that. I added you on Skype right now, so please let me know when you're on.
  10. Don't worry about finding someone who plays the concertina. Just record a few of the notes individually and that'll be fine with me. Thank you!
  11. Also, would you be able to get a recording of it?
  12. I am definitely still interested. Sorry, was out of town for a few days.
  13. I'm interested in this. How much does the chart differ from a standard 30K C/G anglo? Also, steel or brass reeds?
  14. Okay, thank you! Looking forward to hearing it.
  15. I'm interested in purchasing this concertina. How can I contact you privately for more info (and perhaps a video of it being played)?
  16. Is this one still available? Do you have a video of it being played? I'd love to discuss this with you.
