  1. They're great Patrick thanks mate, Theo has given me some info and i'm hpoing to see him at Whitby next month so i'll let you know what happens. Karl
  2. Ah ok Thanks for that Theo, looks like I got it wrong then, apolgies I wasn't trying to deceive anyone about its age, just going by what I had briefly read. I'll have a good look at that site you mentioned. I think Patrick is going to help me out with uploading a pic soon. Karl
  3. I have now worked out how to upload a pic and so with a bit of luck they should be attached to this post. Well I spoke too soon there I've just tried 5 times to upload a pic but each time it seems to go through the process then fails. I have posted via e-mail to a member five photo's so all I can suggest is that I do that to anyone else interested or failing that I will ask that person if they are able to upload on them on my behalf.
  4. Hello everyone, I have created this account just to seek some advice and help. My father in law knows I surf the net a lot and has asked me to research an old Concertina he has. He has had it about 12yrs but from the little research I have done I'm pretty sure its very much older circa 1850 ish. It is in need of attention but still plays, I can provide pics to anyone interested. We would like to know its value now and restored. It is in a wooden box and has six sides, 32 buttons three of which are missing and has steel reeds. There is a tattered label on the underside of the box lid (lachenal & co London) and inside he found the above serial number. It is of wooden construction probably mahogany but the box is a different wood. The buttons are a yellowed white probably ivory or bone not sure on that at all and on one side it has carved "steel reeds". The box is felt lined which again is in need of attention. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
