Hi again Jack, thanks for sorting the photos. I am of an age that is baffled by all things technical. Sorry your wife is not sympathetic. Perhaps if you did a few weeks housework or some shopping might help! I will consider further offers of 2000€ or more and I think that will be a steal. You could perhaps buy it for your wifes birthday or would that be pushing your luck a bit. Regards, Chas..

Hi Chas, My turn into bat. Firstly; the total available size for uploads is limited (4.39MB) so photos have to be re-sized before upload. (1) Browse for first photo. (2) Select/open/upload. Manage Current Attachments will show (1). (3) Repeat for any further photos. On your message, click on Preview Post/Add reply (which should include the attachments, although you will not see them until the post has gone "live"!). As an example, you'll see that I've added what might be known in the trade as a "Bastari" (i.e. Italian job); a photo which I posted on another website a couple of days ago. Good luck! Peter. Thanks Peter, I will try again when I have a couple of hours to spare. By the way, how ever did we get from concertinas to hummers with midge bars ??? Regards, Chas.

Thanks Chris, my mistake. The number is 30700 not 37000. Sorry!!!!!! Regards. Chas No. 30700 is model no.39, a 67 key Maccann Duet. Thanks again Chris. I have now found its archive entry. 31st July 1925 Who goes to all the trouble to collate all the information. I had no idea concertinas were so highly regarded. My Dad would have loved all this. Regards again, Chas

67 button 8 bellow Wheatstone Concertina for sale. Serial No. 37000. Chrome buttons and frets. Good working order with the original (rather tired) leather box. Offers. E-mail chas-chashall@orange.fr for pictures or skype me for a demo. This is one of two concertinas I inherited from my late fathers collection of 8 Wheatstones. The smallest being about 100mm hexagonal with I would think 2 octaves and the largest was a monster of 100+ buttons. Unfortunately I did not inherit his ability to make them talk. His favoured music was Sousa marches but the "Lost Chord" was his special piece. He was self taught and could play by ear. You whistle it and he would play it. The Beatles, Jazz and R & R was not beyond his compass and I have yet to hear anyone on any recording or website who could hold a candle to him. It is quite remarkable the versatility of these instruments in the hands of an expert. To hear "Bells of St Mary" played at full volume with the concertina being swung in a circle at full arms length was something else. I could go on.......... Regards, Chas Hall. Merignac, France. PS. I will make the appropriate donation if it is sold through this forum.
