I know it sounds bit odd but when I hear 'tunes' I visualize shapes rather than colours in my minds eye. But then if its song with words..especially if there's a story to it |I see the story unfold in my minds eye.

A year gone past already....well end of August/beginning of September it will be a year since I first started learning. (although the concertina was purchased on....18/8/08) I do wonder sometimes if there has been much improvement over that year as at times I've felt like I'm pedaling up a hill on a exercise bike. I think I may record a special youtube video for the occasion.

If you've bought a concertina from abroad and want to insure is...how do you work out what to insure it for? Coz the price seems to change daily with exchange rates..and do you factor in P&P? Its all sooo confusing...I think I might just have to do my own insurance policy and put money aside.

I've used 'numbers' from when I started...and now I'm trying desperatly not to think in numbers and hear the sounds...but its like trying to take the training wheels off a bike....I tend to fall flat on my face. -

SO far I've had two people ask me if I'm selling my old concertina. Never thought it would be that popular...not after I 'decorated' it.

What; and photograph everyone milling about near the base of the plinth? The role reversal would be an interesting concept, and is probably not what the organises had in mind! It might result in images like this: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1400525 I haven't checked on the website, but there's a fair chance that someone else has already thought of the idea! it would bring a new thought on which is the 'art' and which are the people viewing the art. 'Who watches the watchers?' you'd get some good pics. I don't think its that high really http://www.flickr.com/photos/ladydetemps/3713914590/ I've just checked; it's been done: http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/news/...ews_287049.html there was a guy when I was there with a bottle of wine 'toasting' the buses as they went past.

It was a while ago, and the details are lost in time, however I have just imported another item using Fedex. The item cost $8470 Total amount for duty and tax was: Duty £173.19 VAT £837.85 Admin Fee £25.28 Total £1036.32 Hmm...I have about £1000 put aside to cover any extra costs. anything I don't spend goes towards my scooter.

I'll be happy if it arrives before september 5th. Ooh how long did yours take and what kind of charges were there...you can pm them to me if you like..I just need a general estimate.

Sounds like the game one song to the tune of another. And I thought practicing with the tv on in the background was a bit naughty.

Yes, I think that means it has left the US. Are you going to have to pay much VAT on it? I have no idea...it was all a bit confusing. That's good It's arriving on the fastest sailing vessal in their fleet. 4 masts matey! fine winds and a following sea. how did you guess? I guess you will start to get excited when the item is shown to have arrived in the UK. Then it will seem to take for ever to clear Customs and make its way to rural Essex. it will be almost a year since ordering when it arrives.
