hi Susi, I went to Melodeons and more 2009 and took my concertina (came back with a melodeon but that's another story). I'm hoping to go next year too..but not sure what to take either. Depends how brave I'm feeling. I've figured out..I think ..what the problem is. I have no goal. I think I need a workshop, or and event of some kind to give me that target to aim for, and motivation. Its my lazy metality again. I don't do anything unless there is a end result.

Running wouldn't happen without some pretty rapid repeated leg movements A good point, but to be more like concertina playing or typing, shouldn't the runners be required to place their feet in a predefined sequence of very specific locations? Isn't that long jump?

I can type fast but only by looking just at the keys. I can't look at the screen and type. I use both hands and most fingers. I generally have to go back and correct mistakes...inverted letters etc. This I may say is only possible when I'm typing something from my own mind, if I type something someone else has written I slow to snails pace.

I haven't played any 'cd's but then that's coz I put them straight on my mp3 player. lol! Are you disappointed with your new Anglo ? Does the intrument live up to your expectations ? nothing wrong with that except a few notes that sometimes buzz (but never consistantly...odd....I think I just need to play it more). Its just me that's the problem. I'm just worried I'll forget how to play if I leave it too long.

Getting disenchanted about playing anglo concertina. Everytime I get a choice what to pick up and play I choose the melodeon. What's wrong with me? How can I enjoy playing again?

Just went back and listened, as I tend to listen on my mp3 player and so not notice names of tracks or performers. That's one of the tracks that stood out. Nice. I'd be interested too - so that's .... Altogether now, in our best Len Goodman voice ... Seven! lol! That made me laugh.

So its one of those illogical concertina things (is there a reason why there is no logic?). lol! I get most confused if I change from melodeon to concertina and vice versa, it takes awhile to adjust.
