I am a professional historian and museum director, and long time folk music lover (I volunteered to wash dishes in a coffee house in the 70s just to hear the music). I was given a four generation family heirloom concertina by my grandfather which piqued my interest, and started playing on a Rochelle (gift from my darling and long suffering wife). My youngest son is a gifted musician and is inspiring me. I have played the harmonica since I was a little boy, and find it a natural progression to the concertina.
Update: I am now the proud owner of a Morse Ceilidh in GD, and a Kensington in CG, and am playing for a group of Long Sword dancers. Old dog, new trick!
