  1. I meant that the reeds are "very large".....the concertina itself is slightly bigger than my baritone

The b flats are are in the outside rows, not the middle ones?

Like you say they are great quality instruments, and I played it for a couple of months non stop..transposing music down ,so that it fit into the 35 button layout. It makes an amazing sound....maybe I should keep it!!!!

  2. lachenal english ebony ended new model tenor

    excellent 6 fold bellows

    very large,but very responsive reeds

    concert pitch

    interesting bassoon/oboe type sound

excellent condition apart from a few of the buttons have the tips worn off at angle.

range is from c below mid c to the fsharp above the c above mid c...30 something buttons

would like to swap it for a very good treble, maybe brass reeded....

  3. No offers of any baritones so far on my other thread so does anyone want to swap one for my treble aeola

its ebony ended 48 key 1911,fretted between the buttons(81 fret?),steel reeds, as new 6 fold bellows, revalved, bushed and touch tuned last year.its particularly strong, and thick sounding right through the range and plays excellently.

  4. hi robin,

I'm not sure if i want steel or brass reeds...what do you think?I shall be playing it mainly at home I guess.I've got your old metal ended machine gun if I want to make some serious noise in public!!!

Chris ..next time you're down in devon I'll give a surfing lesson if you want one! you're never too old

  5. you've got a deal chris....your wheatstone baritone for one of my vintage surfboards?

What do you fancy a 9'6'' bilbo or maybe a 7'0 creamed honey single fin pintail from '76.

You won't need a leash just take your one off your edeophone :P :)

  6. old leather case wanted for large concertina.

    Its 71/2 inches across flats

81/2 inches end to end and,

81/2 across the top from edge of thumbstrap to other edge of thumbstrap.

not bothered how beaten up it is.am happy to mend, stitch and glue!

    kind regards,

  7. are there any significant "performance" differences between a wheatstone boyd and a lachenal boyd?and as seems to be typical of lachenals is there a huge variation betwwen one lachenal boyd and another?

how do your 2 lachenal boyds compare with each other Rob?
