  1. It does, but as I explain it to people, it's like playing a piano with one hand on top of the other. It takes a while to work the system into the brain. Then one day, voila! Good luck! Don't give up!
  2. Wow! I'm so impressed! You have a sweet sound!
  3. The Wheatstone treble looks just like mine! It was built between 1901 and 1904. I found the serial number inside the left side.
  4. Yes, I've seen the ledgers and am disappointed mine does not appear in any. I saw a list that dated it between 1901 and 1904. That's the closest I've found. Thank you for the reply!
  5. I hadn't thought about compression over the years, but that makes a lot of sense! Thank you!
  6. I am wondering what would need to be done to adjust the action of the buttons on a 1904 Wheatstone English concertina. I feel like the buttons go down too far and I'm having trouble playing some passages up to speed. Any thoughts?
  7. New to this forum and thought I'd post my sweet Wheatstone English concertina (serial #23380) which I purchased at an estate sale about 20 years ago. It was in Salvation Army tuning and I tuned it to standard. It is in wonderful condition and has a lovely sound. It has raised ebony ends, rounded buttons, 5-fold leather bellows. Any input on its origins would be welcomed.
