  1. Steve, I'm very glad to hear this! I think I will go for one of these. Thank you so much for the feedback!
  2. I've heard rumors that somebody took over the Stagi business and has improved their quality. Has anybody confirmed this? Specifically the English system? (For context, I'm a youth beginner looking into a Stagi Gremlin 48 button for $500.)
  3. Thank you everyone! I think I will try it out, maybe with a not so nice instrument, and I just checked out the Dave Elliot book. Thanks so much!!!
  4. I'm a newbie to concertinas but I've been stalking them for a few years now. I found an English concertina that looks like a good option for me but I'm being advised by some players that it will probably need a check up and a bit of tuning. I can't find any concertina repairers near me and I'm wondering if this is a challenge I can manage? I've never done instrument restoration but this is something I would like to get into. Everything I read says to send your concertinas to an expert for fixing. Is it even possible for a person to do repairs at home without special tools?
  5. Hi! I'm looking into getting an English Concertina within the next few months. I don't need a fancy one, I just want to have some fun and maybe I'll upgrade someday. I'm looking into the Jackie. 30 note treble. What does everybody think of this one? Does it work well? What are the chances of it breaking? Are there enough notes for most songs? I would, if possible, like a concertina with more notes and I certainly wouldn't mind one with 48 keys but I don't want to spend $2000. I would really like for it to be less than $1000. And I'm in America. I am young and my hands are smaller than adult hands, so I don't want a huge instrument. I play piano (along with a variety of other instruments) so I'm used to stretching for some notes. What do you recommend?
