Hello Gents, old friends, and new,
I am new here, but was a regular on melodeon.net until an injury meant I was unable to play. I have recently started along a journey with the concertina, both Anglo, and English, but my long experience with the melodeon means that I have decided to stick with the Anglo. I have tried concertinas of several types, and despite having bought a beautiful Lachenal 30 key, I have found that the more recent models are more suited to me, being more ‘melodeon like’ possibly because I prefer the sharp single steel reed louder melodeon like sound. I really liked the McNeela Swan I guess because of the steel ends.
So. I have to sell or trade a later model Lachenal 30 reed (brass) Anglo. All reeds are sound and play readily. Valves are all present and working. Springs are tight. Bellows seem to be leak free. New pads fitted. Fretted ends are perfect and free of any cracks and damage of any kind. Bellows are smooth and gussets are perfectly crack free, actually looking like new. New hand straps and screws. £500. Original wooden box.
Also, Gremlin 30 key English. Fretted and inlaid ends, 6 fold LEATHER bellows. This is really nice. And it plays beautifully. It’s the £700 model. Absolutely like new. Includes £80 optional hard case. There are some age related marks to the varnish. £300 Ono.
Also, Concertina Collection ‘Rochelle’ 30 key Anglo, with soft case. Shows some small signs of use. Soft case. £200
I will trade one, or all three of these for a modern metal ended 30 key fretted end Anglo concertina of good repute.
