  5. I had noticed that it is staying in Ireland so not a secret really . Nice to know that you are happy with the outcome . So no profit to be had on the postage eh seeing as its local. Mike

    Bad Sign?

I was also watching that Wheatstone and i was surprised when i noticed that it had not sold , a good buy sadly missed by someone nodoubt . Mike
  11. Last night i kept getting a server error message on one certain thread . Mike
  12. I may well have to get it out again when my new project arrives in a few days time ! I hope not but one never knows until a thorough inspection has been done to see what i have let myself in for this time . Mike
  13. Your certainly not wrong there. Mike
  14. I had the same problem last year and ended up buying what i think was a Draper Frame Clamp With 2M Strap as found on ebay or hobby shops , quick and easy to use and it did the job fine , but your invention looks good and would be able to assert more pressure . Mike
  15. It will appear again soon all spruced up , as it gone to a good home for the time being . Mike
  16. On further investigation i now think that it is a Wheatstone as the reed chambers have been altered by adding what looks like cork or such like . Mike
  17. At a guess i would say a Lachenal , badged and sold by Wheatstone possibly . The reed pans look a lot like my Lachenal 50382 though right down to the serial number positioning and type used. Even down to the pinkie rest screw spacings shout Lachenal to me but the more experienced will know much better than i . The half label looks right as it would have read BY HER MAJESTY'S LETTERS PATENT C WHEATSTONE Inventor 20 Conduit St, Regent St LONDON Mike
  18. Pleased everything turned out ok for you in the end Paul , at least now you can have a good Festive Season free of worries . Mike
  19. Quite possible the same person who started his thread, going by the buyers name if that mean anything ! Mike
  20. Just heard from seller to say more pics have been added . All looks intact too by the look of it . Mike
  21. I also find it very strange that this seller should name this one as he has done , as he has bought and sold tinas for quite some years now and thus must have a very good knowledge of tinas , the reason i know this is that he has bid on many items that i have also bid on over the last few years . Mike
  22. I've just had a reply and pics should be forth coming in the next few days , then we may know if there are any buttons at all on the other end hehe . Mike
  23. I have asked him yesterday to send me pics of both ends so will have to wait and see if he does to find out more . Mike
  24. I see that an Edward Bennet was listed as being the potman there in 1881. Mike
  25. I was watching it as i thought that it would make a good project to rebuild but went too high for me £770 ouch , It looked like a Lachenal from what i could see of it in the pics supplied. Mike
