  1. Thanks for the advice, I took the end off today and found a loose small lump of glue. After removing it the button was working both ways. ?
  2. Hey Thanks for the replies so far. Sorry I forgot to mention what concertina it was. I can confirm it is a Jack By Concertina Connection as Mdarnton posted. I have done repairs on my electric and accoustic guitars as well as cutting and fitting a new bridge on my violin so am happy to dabble in repairs. I will open it up and have a look and see if I can find anything.
  3. Hi All, Just wanted to introduce myself. Ive just inherited a Jack English Concertina and coming from a music background (Guitar/Keys/Violin) I have managed to familiarize myself with the button layout and learned a few basic melodies (london's Burning/In the Bleak mid Winter) Ive had a look at teaching resources and found that it is much harder to find English instruction over Anglo. Does anyone have any advice on where to find more English based tuition and am I limited in having an English. I was hoping to learn sea shanties and english folk tunes, is the English suitable for this. Sorry for all the questions. Many Thanks Stu
  4. Hey all, Fist im new to the site and concertinas. I come from a musical background (Guitar/Keys/Violin) and have just inherited an English concertina. I have figured out the button layout and worked out a few basic melodies. Unfortunately one of the buttons only plays on the pull and not the push, I was hoping someone may offer some advice to prevent me having an expensive repair cost. Thanks Stu
