  1. Thanks Geoff for these useful guidelines. Thanks too to those who PM-ed me. Des
  2. I'm in the happy position of looking to up-grade my english concertina to a top model. (I'll be looking for a 48 key wooden ended Aeola when the time comes). I've seen reference to a golden age for these - can someone enlighten me as to what date range this would be please? (I'm not looking for offers! I'll be trading up with Barleycorn in time, but they've nothing in stock at the moment.) Thanks for any thoughts.
  3. Read your PM but now can't find it again(!) However the middle C on my Crabb doesn't align with the top of the thumb strap. Good luck with Jay.....
  4. Did you find what you wanted? I have a Crabb 48 key tenor that might fit your bill.
  5. I part exchanged one back to Chris Algar at Barleycorn Concertinas 2 weeks ago, well worth a look.
  6. Thank you John! That's just what I was looking for. Des
  7. Hi I've been dipping in and out of these forums here for quite a whlle and really appreciate the knowledge I've picked up here. I'm hoping someone can help with my query. I'm in the lucky position of being able to afford a 48-key tenor EC but it would be so much easier if someone could point me to a finger chart please? I believe there was a file posted to these forums by Geoff Crabb a few years ago but it's now marked as unavailable. I know it's a question of dropping the top four high keys from a standard treble layout and adding 4 lower keys, but seeing as the position of the 48 buttons remains the same, I'm struggling to understand which ones. Help!
