  3. Does anybody know this seller on Ebay cocoa111 He is selling this concertina, but im very carefull about the description, since i've been cheated before on another concertina. The photos dont look that good... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lachenal-48-Key-English-Concertina-Restored-and-in-Concert-Pitch-/251792879862?pt=UK_MusicalInstr_Keyboard_RL&hash=item3aa00670f6
  4. One important update. Because i try to avoid aditional costs due to different import taxes, im only interested in items inside European Union. 22% when buying something for this kind of money is alot!
  5. Dear forum members, I'm searching to buy a used English Concertina, I've been playing Jackie for quite some years now, and am ready to move on the quality scale If you have any nice instruments on sale, please let me know either in this topic or on email (macjezivljenje@gmail.com) The instruments must be playable, 440 concert pitch, restored, so really good conditions only please, since i dont have the knowladge to restore them. Preferably Wheatstones and Lachenal New Model, but im also interested in Button Box instruments thet arent antique My budget is sadly limited to a max of 1500EUR, but im also interested in lower cost instruments if in good condition! Many thanks, Domen
  6. Apparently not all Ebbenwhite english concertinas were french made. Quite some are of those made by Nickolds.
  7. Can you please tell more about it?
  8. wow, where did you get this image, do you own "improved concertina?( ) <And most importantly, how did they improve it? Or is that a marketing trick?
  9. yes, apparently he was mostly an importer, but where tese instruments any good? Compared to Lachenal?
  10. Dear all, I've been a regular reader of concertina.net posts since at least a year, but now i've stummbled upon a concertina manufacturer not yet (i think) discussed on this forum. It is called J.H. Ebblewhite, I've seen one in York one month ago and tried to do some web search but no luck. Do you know anything regarding this manufacturer. The only thing i found was this: Ebblewhite John Henry Ebblewhite styled himself 'real Maker and Importer' and claimed to be able to supply any type of instrument at a low price, including a 'Best English Concertina, "Double Action", in Rosewood Case for Ł3 10s" . Founded about 1840, the firm was based at Aldgate. According to this source http://www.scatesconcertinas.com/pdf/RE%20ACTIONS%20-%20thinking%20inside%20the%20box%201.pdf It has quite different mechanism and uses accordion reeds. If anyone knows something more (are they good, worh of buying, do they have interesting history, etc.) please dont hesitate to share your knowledge.
