  1. A good tutor too is John Williams DVD "Learning the Irish". I started with Bertram Levy, followed by John Williams, now it´s Niall and then it will be Dan Worrall´s Kimber book, but that´s not a tutor.
  2. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 It looks good, but only problem seems to be that the seller is not sending it all over the world. But one may ask him.
  3. Here we go http://www.akkordeon-schau-manufaktur.de/produkte.htm My concertina: fotos.web.de/klaus-guhl/Klingenthal
  4. I play a Klingenthal C/G double reed. They changed one button to C#/Bb. So I can play even in F and D. Btw. if Klingenthal ever decides to make 30 button concertinas I will be one of the first customers.
  5. How far is to Würzburg? Klaus Wenger Händelstraße 11 97074 Würzburg His homepage is http://home.allgaeu.org/kwenger/konzertina/index.html Good luck
  6. Sorry, my tutor must be wrong. You will surely be right.
  7. I have been to Darlana ages ago, when I was young. Very nice area. I forgot to say that one 1/16 combined with a dotted 1/8 is known as "Scot curl". But it might been a swedish bagpipe tune. Anyway it is very nice and I love play it. I tried some single tone on the left, while playing the melodie, like Bertram Levy is doing it in his tutor with another swedish tune. Now I am waiting for the wedding march. Hope it will also be such a nice tune.
  8. It seem to be the same tune, but without the typical (scotish) piper notes (one 1/16 + one dotted 1/8). Here we have a combination of two regular 1/8. You found the tune on a bagpiper´s page, you said. I changed all the dotted into 1/8 and it sound fine. Is there a LIMA in Sweden? It probably will not be Peru?
  9. Thank you for the notes. Swedish tunes sounds good on concertina. I enjoied to play the swedish walz in Betram Levy´s tutor and there is "Ganglat fra Appelbo" which is very common in north germany. Is there a story behind this tune? For exc. what means "Guckulåt"? Do you have some more tune or the URL of the bagpipe page? Merry Christmas
  10. What a beautiful tune! I would like to have the notes. Is that possible?
  11. Christian, wo in Deutschland bist du denn? Hier bei uns im Norden gibt es ja auch Concertinaspieler.
  12. Yes, very true: Ugly! Looks like toy. Take a look at mine https://fotoalbum.web.de/gast/klaus-guhl/Klingenthal It´s a double reed with an additonal Bb/C# instead of another tone (Pinky, right, I.) As a double reed it has a fat sound, warm & heavy. Easy to play, enough air, not to loud. Not as elegant as my Norman, of course but better than any HOHNER or STAGI. Perfect pitched. So all you can expect for little money. If you want to order you will have to write them. They have different models. You can have single tone or another colour. Price is 300,- euro
  13. Don´t take a new HOHNER. They are made in China and the glue stinks (someone told me) Take a look at http://www.akkordeon-schau-manufaktur.de/produkte.htm if you want a two row. Good craftmanship and a fair price. Better than any STAGI. Best would be to safe the money and buy a middle ranged concertina or contact Chris Algar.
  14. Do you or anybody have some experiences with the Phoenix? Chris Algar wrote me that he will have some in november. But he might have a long waitinglist. Price will be between 2000 and 3000 british pound as far as I remember. Azalin, it is the same case to me, I play a Norman, but I would like to have the original sound with this good working mechanic. So, can somebody tell us a bit more about the Phoenix?
  15. I hope they export. Why not? They have different models and tonal ranges. You could have one in black with some paintings or dark/ light wood or a nostalgic version. Price range is from 282,- to 305,- Euro. But when I called them they gave me 20 Euros discount. I don´t know why. If you have special wishes (like me with a C#/Bb) they will help you. I had a delivery time of three weeks. Good luck.
  16. I bought a beautiful one at Klingenthal Schaumanufaktur. Look at mine Klingenthal They started a new production after the reunion of germany. Better than that old GDR Klingenthal concertinas on ebay and imho better than any stagi.
  17. Dan, I tried to order one copy but they don´t deliver to Germany. I wrote a mail but they did not answer. Mmh....
  18. I wanted a 20 double reed Anglo and at Klingenthal they built me one for 300,- (You can see it here:https://fotoalbum.web.de/gast/klaus-guhl/Klingenthal) It has one special C#/Bb reed on right hand C row 5 button, so I can play tunes in D and F too. That makes sense for me.
  19. I bought my Norman at www.diatonie.de He has some in stock. But I paid about 2.000 € for it, including transport, service (I had a tuning after 4 month, there was a minimal problem with th f#) and hard case.
