  1. Sadly I find in some of my local sessions there are either badly tuned instruments or badly tuned ears on the players so the actual instrument tuning is the least of my worries.

Thanks Simon, working as hard as I can considering this is currently a spare time venture. Keep up the vlogs - loving watching them

I'd love to make some Wheatstone ones too, but since they're still in business I'd need their permission - and I don't have that yet sadly. I'm working on it though...

    Folky Clothing Website

Hi all, I just wanted to do a shameless plug for my new website which sells folk music related clothing. I've spent the past 9 months building this up in my spare time, getting in touch with instrument makers and bands who I like listening to, asking if I can print clothes with their logos etc on. I reckon it's going ok, but check out some of the links and see what we've got: Instrument makers Saltarelle Clothing Castagnari Clothing Lachenal Clothing Manfrini Clothing Serenellini Clothing Bands https://www.mudchutney.co.uk/bands/ (adding more as often as I get time - some biggies coming soon too!) I'd love to hear any feedback or ideas / suggestions, but please be (relatively) kind, I've not been doing this that long
  5. My dad has asked me to sell his 48 key Lachenal English concertina for him so here it is. Not really sure how much it's worth if I'm honest so perhaps someone can give me a bit of guidance? All the notes play cleanly and the bellows seem air tight enough. One or two valves on lower notes have a very slight flap to them. I will post a video of me playing it very badly on YouTube in the next few days (I play chromatic button boxes so don't expect too much!). The box I believe is original but has been relined - the concertina slides slowly into the box with a gentle "phfffffft" of air so it's a really really good fit. I think that's all - oh it's number 60190 and it's currently located in Bristol, UK Probably best to email me on craptiger@hotmail.com for more details.
  6. I will see what I can put together and post the results. Might take a day or two though I'm afraid as it's not the quickest of things to create as I found out when I drew one up for my Chromatic button box a while back - and that only has one keyboard!
  7. interesting points - I was unaware it was different to standard. I thought the video was on my phone but it would appear not so will try and upload this evening or tomorrow morning. I'll post a link on here when it's up. From memory I think the funny notes are bottom right though.
  8. Post title says it all really, there are a whole load of images and some more info here http://www.kershnazzle.com/cba/gallery/wheatstone-duet-concertina-for-sale/ Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best, or pass you on to my dad (who it belongs to). He wants around £1200 for it which seems pretty good to me.
