It's OK now (obviously), but yesterday, I was intermittently being refused access, and seeing a 'Forbidden, you do not have permission o access this resource' message (not the exact wording, but it was something like that).

Nothing has changed on my machine, and I was able to visit all my other usual web-sites...

Is there  a spell checker feature on C. Net? or one that could be incorporated?  Then the i - e  - [repeated letters ] can be put into correct places - and all the i' s dotted, etc.  ..  ooops yes spelliung error here too 😄😊

I've always seen a sort of summary panel at the right hand side of my screen when looking at concertina.net. It included stuff like most active threads and things like that. It's now disappeared. I'm not aware of having made any changes myself. Any ideas why this panel has vanished? Ta...

This thread on the Invision Community duscusses it. One poster says "...I've seen email addresses, telephone numbers, personal enquiries, all posted publicly via status updates. People don't take the time to read descriptions [that says it's public] they see a field on a profile and proceed to use it.

When I am logged in and I am idle for 5 minutes, the forum logs me out.

Is this a common issue or should I search the issue on my end_

Edit to add: cnet is the only site I regularly visit that does this. It happens on my other computer too. I generally know what I'm doing and have already turned it off and back on again. Shibboleet!

Edit 2: this is likely the same issue as this one—and, zounds, it's interfering with people's bluetooth hearing aids!

Edit 3: it's nothing to do with sound. It's the forum software, apparently working as intended. See my next post.

I mostly use Safari.   From any of the forum pages: it used to be that clicking on the date of the last reply brought me to....the last entry.  Now, it always brings me to the first entry in the thread. So if it's a thread with a lot of messages - think "current makes of concertinas" - I have to scroll down each page and hit the highest page number, and when I get to the last one, scroll down to the last message.

I switched to Chrome; same problem

But with Firefox, it worked properly; clicking on the last entry from the forum page brought me to the last entry of the target thread.

Just FYI, it's no big deal.

Anybody else notice this? Is there an explanation?

I find this helpful, particularly when older multi-page threads get revived.

It is a user setting in some forum s/w but I can't find it for concertina.net

Today I got a link to this status update which contains a tune (you may have to scroll down). I suspect that many (most?) people won't see that post. I don't know how others read the forum, but status updates are not included by default in unread content - or they're not for me.

Should status updates be included by default in unread content? Existing users might consider adding them. 

But a number of interesting pages are still up, though not necessarily easy to find.  So my question: is there a complete list of those pages publicly available somewhere?  Here are some that I know about that are still available if you know the URL:

apparently older forum software supported the feature to ignore a user (a post dating back to 2006 claims that).

Is that feature still available in the current forum software? If yes, how do I activate/ use it?
