Twenty five concertina players turned up to play and hear a fascinating account of the victorian and edwardian concertina trade and the history of H.Crabb & Sons from Geoff Crabb who brought along a photographic record of the Crabb business as well as some lovely concertinas he had made whilst involved in the business including a 16 sided Triumph Duet and a 40 key anglo made to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee in 1977.Neil Wayne of Free Reed fame brought along some interesting items of concertina memorabilia and reminisced about his visits to the Crabb shop in the 1960's and 1970's.

If you live within driving distance of Sheffield and play or are interested in concertinas the "Royal Concertinas"sessions are not to be misssed.

The next one will take place on Tuesday 18th May at 8.00pm at The Royal Hotel.

Jean and myself would like to thank all those that made our visit to the Royal Hotel such an enjoyable occassion, I hope that we did not disrupt the normal procceedings too much. It was good to meet again some old aquaintances after nearly thirty years and hopefully we will remain in contact.
