I own a Little Lord Fauntleroy melodeon., and I'm looking for information on this instrument. I'm lookinmg to sell it, so need some guidance as to what it might be worth.
I've owned one of those and have seen several. The one I had was (and all the ones I've seen were) small, blue and silver, 1-row treble of (I think) 8 buttons with two reeds per note, no stops and 2 bass buttons. It was in pretty decent but unrestored condition for $20. So I valved, tuned and regasketed it and played it occasionally for several years before selling it for $50.
I don't remember how much the others were but they were in much worse condition than the one I had. The build quality of these boxes is better than toys and on par with the other full-sized button accordions of the day. The LLF and similar type I'm talking about are the ones made in Germany about 1910. They may look fancy but they're not as well made as later boxes are and unless they were extremely well cared for and rarely played would be not worth making playable again. As for "antique" or "collectible" value - I don't have a clue. AFAIK, all those boxes aren't particularly collectible.
If you could give us more information on the condition with a photo or two we may be able to give you a better idea of its worth.
