Hello all,

I'm trying to get in contact with other (active/studying) English Concertina players in Belgium. Purpose: share information, have informal meetings, maybe play together once in a while just for fun. Join forces. Make mayhem.
I tried finding them in the members list here, but that proved to be rather difficult.

At the end of this month, there's a big folk music workshop in Gooik (Belgium). Anyone visiting/attending?

I stopped played Flemish folk music some 15 years ago, kontrabas with the (in)famous group 'Rammenas'. Now that I've picked up the EC, it seems I'm going to be back into folk again.

Nice to hear from you. (post reply or send me personal message).

Have you been in contact with Guido Bos? I've mislaid his email address temporarily, but you should be able to get to him via the web site of the band he plays with, the Sons of Navarone.

Yes, so far I have found Guido, and Patrick Vandorpe ( here: buikligger) found me. And there's another double bass player I know in Belgium who plays English Concertina. He plays with "De Nieuwe Snaar", but I doubt if he has got time for EC meetings. I don't see him here anyway. That makes THREE double bass players playing the EC in Belgium. Coincidence? Maybe bass players are relieved to finally find an instrument you can easily carry. But then there's also tin wistle, harmonika....
