Hi all,

Next week, I'm spending a few days in London on a shopping trip. Are there any shops you know of where I might find English Concertina tutors, sheet music or CDs there? Like folk CD shops or music shops specialized in folk and EC friendly?

I'm an absolute EC beginner so I hardly have anything on EC yet. Any usuful address much appreciated.

For folkmusic and such there is a Hobgoblin in London. Directions how to get there on the internet.
That is where I went my very first time in London. Small shop under Cecil Sharp House.

might i suggest, that youwill do better shopping over the net
.as fas I know the following tutor book sfor the EC ,written by Alan Atlas,Les Branchett and DickMiles are not available in London shops.
Ihave two tutors for EC one on song accompaniment, one beginners to Intermediate tutor, thes are available from the Button Box,or from www.dickmiles.com.
The Button Box has a big selection of concertina tutors,if they still have a photocopy of Alistair Andersons book, this is very good.Dick Miles

all the tutors listed by the button box are good,The Roger Watson tutor is ok,but not very comprehensive, but alright to start.,but is more of an hors d eouvre.

Thanks for the Hobgoblin tip. As for the tutors: yes, probably best to buy them on the internet. Nice to browse through them before you buy though. I see that the Hobgoblin even sells ECs... bad place for the wallet.

Any record shops where I might find EC CDs?

They sell only folk music cds on concertina and not many, but again on the internet you can also find more of those and also of other styles of music. But as for myself I can only say that my first time ever visit was a wonderful experience just to see the shop.
